On Valentine’s day, I learned what a 3 sentence love story is from Jeremy and Audrey Roloff. Basically, you just write your love story in 3 sentences. I know this is late, but I think love stories can and should be shared anytime of the year, so I want to share ours with you. I love how Jeremy and Audrey are so passionate and committed to loving each other for their whole lives and building a strong, healthy marriage. I also love that they are young like us, but so in love and not afraid to show it. If you know me you know how deeply I love Nate and how I can be pretty passionate and gushy about it sometimes. I’ve often felt lonely in this because other married couples don’t express the same joy or seem to look down on being so honest about it, so I find the Roloff’s marriage so refreshing!
They have a whole blog which is so helpful and encouraging. This video tells more about it.
All you married people be sure to check it out!
3 sentences may not seem like a lot, but boy, was it HARD to write just 3! I feel like I can a write a book about our love story thus far, and keep adding more wonderful chapters through the years. But I do love this 3 sentence idea, so here it is:
Nate and I met in college through a mutual friend (I thought he was so cool but that he wasn’t interested until he asked me to the Christmas concert later that semester), which led to friendship that slowly progressed and blossomed the following spring when Nate asked me to be his girl while we played Frisbee golf. We dated for 2 years and then Nate asked me to be his wife on the beach after a romantic dinner on my favorite boardwalk in Barbados. We got married May 24, 2014, and our love story has continued to grow and blossom as the Lord has given us grace to choose to love one another, and we look forward to much more growth and adventure as we grow old together.
Someday I’ll share more details about our love story and wedding, but for now you’ll have to be happy with 3 sentences. 😉
This was really fun for me to think through and write. This past week has been really hard dealing with our infertility, but God has given so much joy as we’ve spent time together. God has used this trial to draw Nate and I closer and strengthen our faith as a couple, which I’m so thankful for.
Thanks for letting me be all gushy! What’s your 3 sentence love story?
