Happy Friday, dears! I’m so touched and encouraged by all the likes and sweet comments/feedback from my last post. Thank you! I felt kind of silly posting something so light right after, but then I realized, I need to. It’s good to focus on the blessings and bright spots from the past week even though life is so tough right now. I don’t want to only focus on the bad and never shine light on the good.

So without further ado, here are the favorites from this week!

  • Papaya. I tried papaya for basically the first time this week (I think I had it once when I was 14 or so, but I didn’t remember a thing about it). Papaya tastes UH-MAZING y’all. It’s light and subtle, kinda like a melon, but has a delicious creamy fruity side to it that’s reminiscent of sandy tropical beaches. Okay, so maybe you don”t get all that in the first bite, but it is seriously delicious! Go try it for yourself. Perfect in smoothies, too.

  • These sandals. I bought them for my little bro’s wedding next month, and I can’t wait to wear them. They’ll be perfect for this summer, too. I’m not usually a gold girl; it can be too flashy for me, but these sandals don’t give me that vibe.

  • This song by Matt Boswell and Matt Papa (what is it with the name Matt and good music? haha our elder at church who leads music is named Matt tooπŸ˜‰). We’ve been singing it in church the past couple of weeks, and it’s Nate’s current favorite song, so I love it too. “His Mercy is More” has such rich, compelling theology yet it also has a beautiful, moving melody. Go give it a listen and you’re Friday will be better.

  • Moana. You already know how much I love the music from Moana, but we finally watched it yesterday and now it’s easily one of my favorite Disney movies! Yes, there are things I don’t agree with about it (Obviously, I think Moana shouldn’t have disobeyed her parents, and some goddess and Maui didn’t create the world, God did), but from a fairy tale perspective, Moana is a really imaginative, exciting story. It reminded me of my days living in an island and how much I love the ocean. Seriously, such a fun movie!

Hope y’all have a lovely Friday, and an even better weekend. It’s kinda sad, but my “weekend” this week was Wednesday and Thursday, so today is more like my Monday. But I’m not going to let that get me down. Friday still holds a special “magic” of its own that will make it a good day.
