Hey friends! Happy Friday from Michigan. Nate and I traveled here (near Grand Rapids, MI), on Wednesday for my little brother’s wedding. It’s been a crazy last 24 hours with all the stress of a wedding, but we’re thankful for time with family and so excited for Trev and Meg to start on this new, amazing adventure of marriage. They’re actually getting married today, so I’m posting this early before all the wedding festivities begin. I’ll be posting more from the wedding and the trip as soon as I have time to write, so stay tuned. 😉
The past couple of weeks have been especially rough on my heart, as we’re still waiting, and special occasions like a wedding in the family mark more passing of time without little ones. I’m tempted to think that we’ll never get pregnant and that these bittersweet moments will continue forever. But then the Lord gently reminds me of His steadfast love and faithfulness, and that He is the greatest need of my heart, and the ONLY one who will satisfy my heart through the passing of time. And so I must continue to rest in Him through the waiting, and draw on His grace for joy in the toughest moments.
On to the favorites from this week!
- The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers on audio book. Nate and I listened to the last part of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J. R. R. Tolkien on our way here and I loved it. I’ve always loved Lord of the Rings, but listening to it on audio made it even better somehow. I’m going to start from the beginning and listen to all three now that the LotR bug bit me again (y’all, I was a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan in high school, to an embarrassing degree! I tried to learn Elvish and I dressed up as a hobbit once. If you’re my friend and saw that pic on Facebook, I apologize!!).
- Starbucks Spring cups. I love the new pastel colored Spring cups at Starbucks! I got my first one today, and even though I did the decoration in a rush, I loved how it turned out. I might just have to buy all the sizes so I can get the other colors!
- These pictures from our wedding day (Thanks again Moments Without Words Photography!) With all the hubbub surrounding the wedding this week, I’ve had lots of sweet reminders of our wedding day almost three years ago. I know I’ve said it before and I know it’s cliche, but “Every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite.” Even through our hard journey through infertility, there’s no one else I’d rather have by my side.
Happy F R I D A Y!!!!!!!!!! What are your favorites from this week?
