If you know me at all, you know I absolutely love to decorate our home! You probably also know it takes me quite a while to feel like I “own” a space, meaning I move things around and rearrange wall hangings and change colors way too much until a room feels just right. Nate used to be surprised when I would start rearranging rooms, but now he just goes along with it, haha.
I like to think that I’ve gotten a bit better with making up my mind, because our couch has been in the same place for over a year now, and I don’t plan on changing it any time soon. 😉 Also, I think I’ve finally grown into the style I love for our home: somewhere between industrial farmhouse, rustic, and shabby chic, with a lot of neutral tones, wood, and greenery.
Our bedroom has been rearranged a LOT since we moved in to our apartment two and a half years ago, but I am happy to declare that I have finally found the setup that works the best. Most of the challenge in owning our bedroom space came from the fact that two of the walls are slanted due to our apartment being on the top end floor of our building. The slant makes it hard to put wall hangings on, as well as arrange furniture against it. Another reason it took a while to feel right was that we didn’t always have a cute bed. Once we got our sweet bed from Ikea, it helped the room feel a lot more complete. We recently got a new bedspread that I LOVE as well, which adds so much charm to our whole room. It really is the perfect bedspread (thanks again, Ikea. You always have just what I need).
Anyhoo, I thought it would be fun to do a little room tour on here for you guys, since I always enjoy seeing how other people decorate their spaces. I’m sure it won’t always look like this, but for now it’s a pretty, happy corner of our home.

The only thing that I may change about our room sometime in the future is our night stand situation. As you can see, they aren’t exactly matching and cute right now. Also, I’d love to add lamps that are attached to the wall someday, because I think they would look really cool and be less hassle. I’ve been eyeing these lovely ones from Ikea, so maybe we’ll have to get them sometime. 😉

Hope you enjoyed taking a little peek into our home. I’m excited to share more spaces with you as I “own” more of them.
Hope you have a lovely week!
Love,
Amazing room – you did a great job here! I love the arrangement with the suitcases – looks lovely!
